Students get their Student UTORid during the registration. You can go to the local campus TCARD Office. This office will give the students their TCard with your UTORid available on it. You will also get a letter that will explain the step by step procedure to activate your UTORiD.

How Can I Log Out from UOFT Email?

U Of T weblogin, with the help of browser’s cookies feature, stores the information. After you close your browser, these cookies automatically get cleared. This helps you completely log out of the webmail and weblogin services that was used for authentication.

What are the uses of UTORid?

  • T Card +: T Card + is your official iD and it is your official Library Card. You can use this card to pay for goods by swiping and get the best services across the campuses of St. George and Scarborough.
  • ACORN: The accounts ACORN UOFT are very useful for the selection of the courses and for the records of the academic and finance. It may happen that you may be completely locked out of the ACORN and for that you should contact the office of registrar.
  • UTMail + for the Students: Every student can use the UTMail+ to successfully access the University of Toronto’s email and calendar service. The integrated Microsoft 365 platform supports the features such as calendar, email, task list and contacts.
  • Library – Resources online: U Of T Mail offers you a subscription to multiple electronic online resources. This is going to help you easily access the via your UTORid or with the help of your Library Barcode.
  • UTORvpn: You cannot access the resources using UOFT Campus Network. This access is restricted to the computers using this network. If you need to use some of the resources by being outside the campus network, you need to use the UTORVpn service which can be used by the students, teachers, or any staff members easily. This virtual private network ensures that you safely and securely access the services.
  • UTMAIL +  for the staff, librarians, faculty: UTmail+ is supposed to be the Microsoft 365 platform. This is the great way to increase the online communication of the students and teachers. They can also collaborate on many study related topics and learn to grow. The use of the features of the U Of T Mail are email, contacts, calendering, lsit of tasks and other features.
  • Quercus UOFT: If you do not know about Quercus UOFT, then it is a Learning Management System or LME of the U of T.
  • Wireless Internet facility: The UTORcwm or the wireless network of the campus gives the student wireless access to the internet all across the campus of the university.

How to Activate UTORid?

Your UTORid and your secure password will allow you to access the portal’s online services. The services are very important so that all the students can access them.

These services include Library services, ACORN, UOFT Webmail, wireless campus network and other services. The UTORid is the same as the JOINid that you got during your last communications.

How to Activate UTORid

  • Open the official link https://utorid.utoronto.ca/ and then start following the First Time Users for activating your UTORid link, 
  • Now your must enter your secret activation key – JOINid 
  • The next step for you is to set up the UTMail+ and email id.
  • Now you must setup your account management system and also the UTORid password.
  • After you have activated the UTORid and successfully set up your email, you will receive all your emails for the future to your UTmail+ email ID.

These activation steps may be valid and helpful for new students. They will not have a Secret Activation Key so they can activate UTORid. You may have received the activation key through your email to verify your appointment. It will be done with the help ot Tcard staff members. You may be provided this by a U Of T authorized staff member. 

How To Verify UTORid and Password?

If you want to know the authenticity of the UTORid and your password, then you can follow the steps in the below sequence,

  • Now please click the option – Verify your UTORid and password

enter required details and click on check to verify utorid and password

  • Now you will have to provide your UTORid and your password. 
  • Then check your UTORid.
  • If the password and UTORid you have are not authentic and valid, then you must click Forgotten UTORid Password.

Note: If there is a message that says that there is a database problem is corrected. Try sometimes to enter the UTORid once again. Some of these changes are going to take time to reach the system’s parts fully.

Why is my UTORid password not working?

Without a password, you cannot access many of the services. But even after having the correct password, you are not able to login to any of the UTORid services, then it is time to verify your password. Please do as the following to verify it,

  • Open the UTORid Password Management website. Please type your UTORid to verify. This is your password that you think is correct. Click on the “Check” button.
  • It will authenticate if you are having correct password, if it is not correct, then a message will pop up on your screen showing “Authentication failed”,

  • But if you see a message about UTORid password that has been verified, then you can now try to login to the system. Once you login to the system, you can access all the UTORid services by making sure that you have entered the correct password.

Note: Please enter your password with the proper capital and numbers as it is Case-Sensitive.

  • If there is a message “There was a problem in our database” then wait for it to get fixed for a few minutes. If it is fixed then begin to login to the system and access the UTORid services.
  • If still you face the problem with the UTORid Password, then do not wait more, contact the Help Desk. Make sure you contact around the official business hours.
